My Dad, William (Bill) Ackley is a WWII vet. Dad is now 89 years young and has just begun to speak of his service to our country. For years, he would never discuss any of what he did or saw and his memories are so painful that he often sobs when speaking of it. He has given me the names of several of his brothers in arms and one of them, John Regis Hanley, he believes was a police officer in Belville, NJ post WWII. If anyone would have any informaiton on Mr. Hanley, I would greatly appreciate it. Dad's health is failing and I would love the opportunity to be able to share with him any news you may have. i lived in belleville for 25yrs b/4 i moved out of state . just wanted to let you know that i personally feel belleville police are the best force in NJ . i had a scanner and listened to the calls you guys were forced to deal with on a dailey basis and you guys were absolutly professional and did the best job !! i still have some friends on the force .. keep up the great job you guys..and all you do to keep belleville safe .. its not easy for sure .. have a safe and happy holiday season michael blodgett sr.

I want to thank Belleville PD for their immediate action this week in locking down the schools while a suspect was at large. They are the best.
